Happy 30th Anniversary!!!|

Update April 16, 2012
Once upon a crazy morning, the teacher was asked by the senior B’a  to sing Baa Baa Black Sheep for the third time in a row.  Getting bored of the same song, she decided to change it up a bit, hence the Baa Baa Rock Sheep.  The Children LOVED it, and so we became the Rockin Rymers and produces our first rock video.
As part of the emergent learning, teachers spend time observing the children to find what they are interested in and turn it into a lesson.  Our music escapade turned into lessons on  the value of practicing, exposure to different instruments, and they got a lot of physical exercise through dance, just to name a few.  Most of all we all had fun.  We hope you enjoy our rock video as much as we enjoyed making.

What WE are doing to keep children healthy this fall and winter….. and what YOU can do to help…….

The fall tends to be a time when various viruses and illness circulate more often.  We are regularly disinfecting toys, equipment, door handles etc..  Children are encouraged to cough and or sneeze in their sleeve, and to wash their hands frequently, especially after coughing or sneezing.  Hand sanitizing dispensers are located in each classroom area and near the main entrance/exit.  Please use them.
**Note that children should only use alcohol - based hand sanitizers with adult supervision to eliminate the risk of alcohol poisoning.

When to keep your child at home…..

If your child is not well enough to fully participate in the program including outdoor play, please make alternate arrangements for child care.  Children with vomiting or diarrhea should remain at home for at least 12 hours following their last episode.
**
Children with a fever should remain at home until the fever has been gone for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.  If we all work together we will keep all of the children as healthy as possible.

CLOTHING REMINDER:

Please make sure that your child has a change of seasonal clothing in their backpacks.  It is also helpful to have a light jacket and a heavier one or an extra sweater, or heavy shirt as the weather this time of year is unpredictable.
It is important that all items of clothing be labeled.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

MUSIC AND DANCE ELECTIVES

Forms will be circulated for both in the next few weeks for sessions to begin after Thanksgiving.  Please return them ASAP as these programs are on a first come first serve basis.
